about

This album is the result of a Morning Scales the Mountain noise rock "rehearsal" session that went horribly right. It's one of the most fun and satisfying hours I ever spent playing music. Unfortunately, Tom Carter couldn't make it that day but Andre Ramiro and I wanted to get some more playing time together before an upcoming Morning Scales gig. We didn't really have songs, the whole premise is that we were an improvising rock trio. So Andre and I just did what we usually did. Set up and played. There was never a thought that we were recording something for posterity. Hell, I almost didn't set up the stereo recorder between the two of us.

Glad I did! We started playing and didn't stop until we came out the other end an hour later. The "tracks" appear here in the order we played them, a couple of noisier things, and then we relaxed and let something play us out, seductive and langorous. That's how we got to visit "Third Country". I think you'll like it there.

You can hear all three of us improvising some epic psychedelic rock here: morningscalesthemountain.bandcamp.com
"The stars sit on high" is another musical highlight I'm especially proud of.
